I have discovered a mistake in the owners manual in the new Amerex 13 lb small bus fire extinguisher. The manual states the back-up 9 volt battery is located behind the drivers pannel of the extinguisher control.....it is not located there. It is located behind the panel mounted on the chemical cylinder. If you remove the drivers control pannel it will cause the system to discharge. I have notified Amerex they now are aware of the problem and will be correcting the manual. You will know when the 9 volt battery needs to be changed when the system beeps. The 9 volt battery will need to be replaced after the vehicle batteries have been discharged or disconnected for any period of time. The 9 volt battery only last for 24 hours after the vehicle bateries are down. |
