Denny, Same as Dan (BARTA)Safety Vision, problems at first, worked them out, have 5 cameras per fixed route, trying cameras on 1-1993 Orion,1-1976 GMC and 1-2000 Gillig LF to see how they do. May fit all 3 groups with cameras later! Tech support is good, dealing with front office is sometimes slow.Call if more info is needed. |

Denny, we have been using REI Bus Watch since 2003. There have been issues with the DVR's and hard drives. REI came in and updated all the DVR's to the current spec. Hard drives are only good for 1 -2 years. We have 2, 3, and 4 camera systems. It is a good system and very easy to program and view. We don't allow the driver to control the alert, we record all the time. Recording times vary depending on the number of cameras and the size of the hard drive. We are currently using 120GB hard drives. One problem we are experiencing with the Opus is they are mounted in the rear compartment above the seats. There is way too much heat and dirt in that area. We are considering moving them to another location. If you have any questions or need more info, give me a call. Steve |

Denny, We have Safety Vision in our units. Fixed route uses 5 cameras and Paratransit uses 3 cameras. 17 fixed route and 17 paratransit vehicles have the Road Recorder 6000. 7 fixed route vehicles have the Pro 6000 which is the latest generation of the Road Recorder 6000. We have had many issues with the Road Recorder 6000. Corrupted hard drives, programming, and follow-up service. The Pro 6000 is much improved from the Road Recorder. They have resolved most all of our issues. From a corporate stand point they always tried to accomodate us and resolve our concerns. There are many Safety Vision units installed on the East Coast. As usual procedure for each prospective vendor, I would request a list of customers and follow-up with them for their experiences. If you may be interested you may come to BARTA and look at the units and the hard drive review program for each of the Safety Vision models that we have. Let me know. Sincerely, Dan |

Denny, we are using Seon. They are 4 camera systems. The last 4 we installed use GPS for speed reading, elimanating the need for speedo hook up. No complaints at all. have worked well .Saved us a couple of times in claims, and proved some things we couldnt before. |

We would like to know what other properties are using video surveillance inside of your buses? If you are using surveillance who is the manufacture? What types of issues have you experienced? How has the service been to resolve the issues? Thanks, Denny |
