Bob, CAT purchased a four brush Ross & White back in 1998. We are satisfied with the unit but like any other piece of equipment it requires routine maintenance. Mark |

At our Ebensburg facility, we use an N/S Bus Washing System unit. It has brushes. Everything here is recycled because we only have a well. It uses very little soap (easy to adjust). Downside is that we found our loose parts on the small buses within the first 3 days of use. Once that was out of the way, we have had no problems...had it 3 years now...wash about 20-40 vehicles daily. It can also wash full size buses and cars with no problems. N/S worked with us because we were limited in length also. They are on the Internet. Doug |

Heres my 2cents, I went and looked at a touchless drive thru at an R&L truck fleet in New jersey. Dirty truck in, Clean truck out. Down side, Requires a room for all the equip,Pumps ,water storage, chemical storage. Used a lot of water, and chemical. Was fast, not much to go wrong. For a large fleet, Water recycle would be the best option. Our biggest problem is finding a system, brush or brushless that will fit in the bay, where the existing one is. |

Bob, I favor a brush over brushless. With a brushless system you have to rely on expensive chemicals and expensive high pressure pumps. So you have a higher operating cost coupled with a higher purchasing cost over a brush system. A brush system may require more maintenance over time but cost per wash is lower and your buses will be cleaner. That is my opinion for what it is worth. Steve |

What is the answer? Brushless or Brush. We lean towards brush, we think it will clean better, but will take off paint. We would like to hear about both kinds. + -. Thanks Bob |
