RRTA has a Ross & White that was installed in 1979. It is a 3 brush system that we have kept working and improving over the years.
We are scheduled to replace it in the next year or two. We will go with a brush system. It is less cost. With a brushless you are relying on high pressure and chemicals to do all the cleaning. The pumps and chemicals can get expensive.
Hope that helps.

Bob,
CAT purchased a Ross & White Model #1055 back in 1997 for about $55,000. CAT also got the water recycler for another $17,000. We have been satisfied with the unit, but like everything else, it requires proper maintenance to keep it in good working order.

Bob,
COLT just put in an N/S two brush system about 6 months ago. So far its working real well. I don't really have an opinion one way or the other brush or brushless but Denny is right as far as the purchase and operation being more expensive. We replaced a two brush system with this new one and never had a problem with much damage to vehicles.

Bob,
RVT is going to go with brushless. Ditto what Dennis said, they also recommend using hot water. I think the extra costs will be worth the damage the wash will save.

I looked into both types in the last year. I like the brushless if you can afford it. They are definitely more expensive. They also use a lot more water and chemicals to do the same job that a brush system does.

We want to put one on our Cap list.
