Bob you asked who is using Voith transmissions. We are at Amtran. Only have 15-17,000 miles on the buses,using transynds oil in them. Only problem we are having is very noisy brakes, which we think, for maybe a small part is caused by the retarders in the voith trans. doing too good of a job. The brakes,which has very hard lining,Federal requirements on OEM equipment,might be getting that "glaze" on them and not letting the lining and drum get heated up like they should. We have Gillig and Meritor looking into the problem. Let you know what we find out. |
