Mark, we have garage doors that are 20 years old and have not experienced those types of problems. The torsional springs should actually be doing most of the work when the door is opened. Since these are new doors I would question the sizing of the cables or something isn't adjusted correctly.

We have had 3 garage door failures. As in cables braking and the door coming down. They are panel doors with cables and overhead torsional springs. Has anyone else seen this problem? They have only been in use 6 months.
