Mark, we take care of on site area and Transit Center snow removal, but contract shelter snow removal (also cleaning and signage installation on one contract) |

Mark We do all our snow plowing here & at the Trade & Transit Center. When the pile gets to big at the transit center we call a local construction co. to haul it away. They charge around $100.00 per hr to load & haul away. No contract just as needed |

STS does all in house snow plowing at our facility and our main bus terminal. Snow removal isn't really a need considering the amount of wasted space around to dump it. and the building that our terminal is in is owned by the city so the city hauls that snow away for us free of charge. |

Mark, we go out for three quotes and award to the lowest quote. We do not actually have a contract. The quote is what they charge us. Hope this helps. |

Mark, we do all snow removal in house. I do use a contractor to haul the snow away if we start running out of room. We don't have a contract with him since it is on an as needed basis. |

Mark, we currently do both. We contract three of our facilities and we do our Gap park and ride in house. That being said we have one year left on the current contract and will be moving everything back in house. I presume we may still contract services for those times that it becomes necessary for additional help. I have found it difficult to find a contractor that can keep after the snow as needed for the saftey of staff and riders as well as the sidewalks within the city limits that we must keep clear. Our contractor does a very good job but has other clients therefore when we have snow falling for a period of time he doesn't get back to us before walks and drives need clearing again. All that being said timing is everything. Overnight snowfalls can be cleared for morning startup and not a problem. Daytime and all day snows are the real bug a boo. I will forward a copy of the contract we have with our contractor as soon as I can get it from my office manager. |

I know we are all glad to get the winter and snow behind us but I would like to know what everybody does for snow removal on their property. Is it done by your maintenance staff or is it contracted or a combination of the two? If you contract, can you provide me with a copy of your contract. Thanks-Mark |
