LANta uses Ana labs as well, We sample our oil at every PM Insp. (6,000 miles). I use the analysis for many of the same reasons listed. |

We sample every 12,000 miles also. We use ANA Labs for the testing. Oil analysis will give you an inside picture of the engine based on the results. If you see high metal levels you know where the problem is. If you have coolant or fuel in the oil you know to get it resolved before the engine fails. I have stopped doing mid life overhauls and rely strictly on the samples to tell me when a problem exists. It is not 100% but it is definetely a tool that you need as part of your preventative maintenance plan. |

We take an oil sample every 12,000m. It helps to give us a heads up if you got fuel or antifreeze leaking into oil. Also good to have report stapled to your 12,000m PM sheet when you have your triennial review, showing you had it done. |

What's everyone's take on oil analysis I would like to start doing it. Sts got away from it years ago not sure why, but would like everyone's opinion on it. Good/bad waste of money and time or a great idea should have been doing it!! |
