I just wanted to inform everyone of an issue with baseplate cracks on Braun Millenium series lifts that we recently discovered. All of the lifts affected so far have a manufacture date from 2005-2008. Attached are photo's of the cracks.

I spoke to Steve Wattley at Braun a few days ago and asked if they could be welded. Because of the area that the cracks have appeared, they said no welding in that area. The base plate must be replaced. I currently have eight out of service for cracks. On one, the vertical supports were cracked at the weld as well.

Steve also said that the cracks are caused because most of the time the stow blocks aren't installed. I'm not an engineer, but I thought that was a little far fetched. Also, when I checked, seven of the eight lifts I have with cracks had the stow blocks installed, only one did not.
