I received this from Robert Zolyak about the large bus specs they want to put together. PENNDOT and DGS will be developing a group of large bus PCID specifications for 30, 35, and 40 foot buses. We will hopefully be setting up a meeting in November (depending on our workload) with the large bus manufacturers and the PPTA maintenance committee members to review these specifications for comments before going out to bids. There currently are no plans at this time to put a DGS contract for large buses of this type out to bids until we develop these specifications and get input from bus manufacturers and the PPTA maintenance committee members before going out to bids. I definitely want to keep PPTA maintenance committee members informed regarding these specifications; just as we have done in the past with the specifications for the small accessible transit vehicle contract.
