Shane, We have had issues but sounds like yours are significant. It is our policy not to pay until vehicles have been "Accepted". Mark |

Shane, You will always have problems with Rohrer. You don't have to accept the onsite inspectors results. Inspect them yourself and do not pay until they are right. Just tell Zoloyak why you are not accepting them. The best thing to do is make Rohrer pick them up and not return them until they are fixed. Rohrer is PENNDOTS golden child and they own the contract so they are acting that way. We have to hold our ground and make them make it right....Carl |

I know we would not pay until the discrepanacies were corrected. We had one van delivered last spring that had a few issues, but all were corrected prior to payment. As far as the emmissions required on the registratrions, that is a problem at Penn Dot. That problem has been on going for years at Penn Dot and nobody there seems to know why or how to correct it. |

Shane I never had that experience with Zolyak but I would not send any payment until problems are resolved and you make final acceptance period. |

Terry, Thats the bad part-- Bob's been in the loop the whole time! He told us that since they are "working to correct the problems" that it would be ok forward payment. I told my accounting dept that there is no way I am giving them an acceptance letter until all of the problems are resolved. PennDOT through a fit a few years ago when we accepted buses that still had a some issues. Tyler-- that was also one of our issues. |

Shane, We took delivery of 8 units in the beginning of Sept and I have yet to get all units in-service. I didn't have that many problems with the buses at least mechanically. My biggest problem was 7 of the 8 registrations showed that emissions required even though they are all over the weight limit. I just received an email from Rohrer today saying the last corrected registration is in the mail but I guess time will tell. Rohrer has sent me a few emails requesting that the last payment be sent but I will not send it until the registration is correct and in my hand. Tyler Smith BCTA |

Shane. I had issues with the two I got this summer also. Make sure that you stay in constant contact with Bob Zolyak at penn dot and keep him informed of the problems. If you do that you should not have them telling you to make payment. |

Is anyone else still having a lot of trouble with Rohrer? Even since the state has instituted their new inspection plan-- and has its own onsite inspectors-- our buses are still showing up with a lot of problems. In March we took delivery of five (5) buses-- and it took until June to get them in service because of all the issues we had. Now, we took delivery of two (2) more in August and still have yet to officially accept them. PennDOT is been contacting our office requesting that we forward payment to Rohrer-- even though they know we haven't accepted the buses yet-- they're the ones who told all of us not to cut the checks until the buses pass inspection. What's going on here? |
