Mark, This is all I have on paper for our Warrenty Proceedure the only thing they asked me is if i verified if the repair would be covered under warrenty before begining the work. I told them that i do not check first and that when it comes to the vehciles our main focus in the shop is to complete all repairs to the best of our ability and return the vehicle to service as fast as possible. 6.6 Warranty Warranties are an essential part of BCTA’s maintenance department. All claims are to be filed in a timely manner. Warranties are due to BCTA after making OEM purchases of new vehicles, major facility components, and contracted vendor services. Warranty repairs on the vehicle fleet are tracked like all other repairs via the work order system within Fleet-Net. When a covered repair is made by the technician staff the parts clerk submits the vendor’s forms displaying the covered item and the labor amount. Typically the vendor will then assign a claim number. After the vendor approves the claim a credit is issued to BCTA’s account and an account statement is sent to BCTA as notification. When a warranty item is not repaired by the staffed Technicians the unit is either sent to the vendor to have the repair completed or the vendor is brought onsite to BCTA’s repair facility to have the repair completed. In either case after the repair ha s been made BCTA will receive a copy of the vendors repair order showing the warranted items this copy is attached the BCTA’s work order and filed with appropriate work order. |

During our recent triennial review I was dinged for poor warranty procedures. Does anybody have good written procedures for warranty claims? Thanks-Mark |
