All Vehicles and all fluids are supposed to be checked once a week I've already had a "stern" talking to my line staff. They're thought process was its brand new it doesn't need checked. |

We haven't seen anything like that on our 2010's. We have some of our high mileage V10's using an excessive amount of oil, but not the newer ones. But we do check the oil on a regular basis. What does the coolant tank look like? |

Tyler, We have been experiencing higher oil consumption on our newer 6.8L V10s. When we questioned Ford about it they told us that 1,000 miles per quart of oil is acceptable. If the oil is not getting checked regularly its conceivable that after 5500 miles it would be getting low. Is the oil level checked by someone on a daily basis? Its difficult for me to understand why the vehicle wouldn't have had a low oil pressure warning light. In our last batch of 2011's we've already replaced an engine. We also understand that Ford is well aware of this problem. hope this helps... Mark |

We just reached our first oil change on 1 of our 2 new E-450 Cutaways with the 6.8L V10. When we drained the oil we only got maybe 2qts out of it. When I called Ford they told me they haven't had to work on too many of them (6.0L diesels must keep them busy) and that he has never heard of this. It only had 5500 miles on it when we did the service. Anyone having this same problem? Thanks TJ |
