We had a MCI demo unit for a month with the cummins and urea. From the records I have found we put 5000 miles on it and used 8 gallons of urea. Hope that helps.

Has anyone out there taken delivery of any buses with the 2010 emissions requirements-- DEF / Urea? If so, what have you seen so far in your urea usage? We will be taking delivery of 7 soon, and I am trying to budget for our Urea consumption. Cummins expects a 2% usage in comparison to fuel usage-- i.e. in burning 100 gallons of fuel, 2 gallons of urea will be used. However, this ratio is based on OTR trucks at 8mpg. Our vehicle average 4mpg, so I doubled the use of urea to 4% (for budgetary purposes). To me, that suggests an annual usage of around: 15,840/gal of diesel and 633.6/gal of urea per bus. Does this sound fairly accurate? --- Sorry for all of that technical mumbo-jumbo. Thanks.
