Ken, Gillig is $50.00 P.H. Ricon is $55.00 P.H. Most of the time the rate can be negotiated with the vendor that you are charging warranty to. Most of the vendors do not try to under-cut your operation they will offer a fair price. If they do not offer a price, make your price high enough to be negotiated. Most times they offer to pay more than you would charge by using in-house formulas. Some will pay from your work order and others will pay a set amount for specific repairs from your work order. Each vendor is different. Some of the vendors will schedule a repair person to perform the repair at your facility. As Denny said: we should not lose any money performing warranty work for a manufactured issue or defect. |

Ken, We charge Gillig around $50.00 a hour. You can also use your loaded rate, top mechanics hourly rate & multiply that times all your overhead & benefit costs. Use whatever is greater. My opinion is we shouldn't lose money on warranty work. |

What do you charge the manufacturers per hour for warranty labor? |
