Charlie,
Our people have attended several training session. The results have been beneficial to our maintenace program. however, being a Class 5 we have only Body on Chassis and most of the training is designed for larger buses. We would like to see taining in advanced electrical, brakes, A/C, and computer controls specific to body on chasis vehicles. Ford E-350, E-450, chevy, International etc..

The most requested training at our facility is something less than advanced electrical. For lack of better term basic electrical. We are going to be getting a new Gilig bus around the beginning of the year so I'm sure we will be looking at various training on it. Two of my mechanics were up at Monroe for Thermo King training which will be on the new bus.

Charlie,

Response from our techs is that they would like to see more advanced electrical training, but as it relates strictly to the dynex systems. We would also like to see Series 40 Detroit trouble shooting and overhaul. We would gladly be a host property. The biggest issue here with training is equipment specific training. Our men have enjoyed the classes and brought back good info, but they have all said if the training was more equipment specific, it would be of even a greater benefit.

Dave

Gentlemen,
The PPTA/Keystone Standards Sub-Committee is meeting in Harrisburg next Tuesday to discuss this years training. Three things,(1)Thoughts on improvements to existing coarseware, instructors and training in general? (2) Does anyone have new thoughts on new coarses that they would to see offered with our existing coarses? (3) Would anyone like to host training at their facility and assist in taking the lead to organize attendance. I'll compile your responses for next Tuesday's meeting. Thanks guys and all the best, Chas
